The Village of Monroe is putting on 3 concerts this season at Mill Pond Park. The first concert was last Saturday. The Perfect Fifths, a jazz ensemble from MW High School opened the show. They were really excellent and provided great music as a warm up act. You surely woudn't think they were just a high school ensemble. The featured performer was Tracy DeLucia whom i've had the pleasure to photograph several times. Tracy started mostly in country music but has slowly gravitated to other types of music. She is lively on stage and always engages the audience, going out into the crowd. Tracy just finished a CD that was recorded in Knoxville and has lately been interviewed on several radio stations in the country. She performs a lot of original music and left for Nashville Sunday to work on new material. Tracy is just one of those people a photographer dreams of shooting. She always has that great smile going on and always gives me so many great " looks " when I photograph her. I like to think of her as a moving magazine cover. When you see the photos I think you will agree. It was also nice to see her husband Dave who plays drums in the band as well as her daughter. Seems like I have seen them grow up in front of me so much in the last few years. You can go to her website www.tracydelucia.com and sign up for email notices on her future shows and "like her" in Facebook. Her CD is also available on line.
