Hometown guy returns in triumph!!!! That was the atmosphere at Mill Pond Park on Sunday. Jermaine Paul who went to school in Monroe returned and sang songs from his winning run on "The Voice" to the crowd's delight. He was joined onstage by his wife Melissa who was "DJ for a Day". Jermaine was still his humble self saying hi to almost everyone that came to meet him. So many knew him from the area. Jermaine is the ultimate performer on stage. He just takes the stage and makes it his. The crowd is under his control. He is a master at what he does. He could headline MGM Grand in Vegas tomorrow. Still taking time to pose for photos and a meet and greet until every person was satisfied. People in wheelchairs, children and parents. Still knows and remembers his roots. I've been honored to have documented 3 Jermaine Paul performances. The first one at Palaia Winery, the second just this year at The Castle in Chester and now Jermaine returning victorious to Monroe. My thanks to Mayor Purcell and all the staff who make these concerts happen. A great job. Jermaine was surprised with a presentation of a proclamation by Mayor Purcell and a birthday cake furnished by Shoprite. I'm already hearing rumors that there is going to be another JP concert before the end of summer with a full band. That would be some kind of event !!! Let's make it happen. Jermaine's last song of the evening was one he performed on The Voice, " I Believe I Can Fly". While he was singing that song, which is really Jermaine's personal story in music, I glanced over and saw Melissa looking towards Jermaine. I saw a tear come to her eye. You know it was funny. I had one in my eye too.
Enjoy the photos
They can be found in the Concerts section of the menu. Jermaine has his own folder which contains all three concerts.
