Sugar Loaf Crossing is the new venue for the free outdoor concerts that were at the Lycian Center last year. It is a lot smaller but still the same wonderful atmosphere that was in the old place. I was so glad to see AnneMarie still "at the helm" running things . When I walked down the gravel path to the stage,(hobbled) I was greeted by Mike Fox, lead singer of the Mighty Spectrum Band. He came up to me and shook my hand. It really felt nice that the band would remember me just from a few photo shoots. There were several couples in the audience that looked familiar and one in particular that were so nice and talked to me. At the end of the concert they even helped me walk back to my car. Don't think I would have made it back without them. Thank you again !!! Well at 630, AnneMarie took the stage and made her announcements and thank you's and the show began !!! The Mighty Spectrum Band has 9 pieces if I counted it right. A full horn section and I think every one of them except the drummer does outstanding vocals and even solo work. Mike Fox is the lead singer and I really think he sounds and makes you feel as if "Bruce" is in the house. They have the crowd on their feet all the time and didn't stop playing for two hours. They do have one "ham" in the band though. I won't name names but he has a nice red guitar that he plays and there always is a certain "glare" that comes from his head !!! Really he is a great guy and I enjoy chattering back and forth with him and all the band members. The whole band are truly "performers" and give you a show to remember as well as one of the best concerts you will ever see. These guys have fun up there and get the crowd to join in the fun. If you would like to get on their mailing list and see where they will be playing next, go to www.mightyspectrumband.com. Photos can be seen by going to "Concerts/Mighty Spectrum Band". Yes they have finally "arrived". They have their own folder now. Or you can go to the direct link by "CLICKING HERE"
Hope you enjoy!!
